Macbeth is one of Shakespeare's most famous and tragic morality plays. Fuelled by his wife and prophesies provided by three mysterious figures on the heath, Macbeth sets out on a murderous campaign to become King. As his paranoia becomes more evident civil war erupts and leads to more deaths and tragedy as MacBeth fights to keep his crown. His overriding ambitions cause him to abandon his moral integrity and lead to his ultimate downfall.
